Election Day Eve

Another mid-term election process is coming to a close…mercifully…thankfully.

But does it really ever end?

At least the television and radio advertisements will stop for the time being.

But the campaigning…oh, my.

For example, the former state representative for our district started campaigning to regain the lost seat the day after it was lost. Granted, the election was very close, but holy cow…

And has anyone noticed that nothing really changes even when incumbents are not re-elected? Just the name and the letter behind the name.

And we’re tired of the gridlock. Nothing accomplished.

Then, again, maybe the gridlock has been a blessing in disguise. Who knows where the national debt would stand if the two sides could have agreed more often to get some thing accomplished. Doesn’t seem to matter which party is in power…the debt still climbs.

But don’t be alarmed. This is good economics. Supposedly. According to some.

What you and I would be thrown in jail for the federal government does with impunity. For the good of the sheeple. I mean, people.

Was reading today that the Millenials appear to be fairly Libertarian in their leaning. Best news I’ve read in some time.

We need more Libertarians. Libertarians understand freedom better than most.

A question everyone who votes needs to ask and answer for themselves: Do I value freedom?

At first blush, I believe almost all of us would answer in the affirmative.

Now consider how you plan to vote tomorrow.

If you vote for one who wants bigger government – more rules and regulations, more government spending – you may not value freedom as much as you think you do. More government equals more taxes equals less freedom.

While none of the choices are ideal, in most cases it is fairly easy to determine which candidate more highly values freedom.

Vote for freedom. We can’t afford the alternative.
